Jackall Riser 007

Has anyone fished the Jackall Riser 007? If so, are you tying directly to it with braid, or using braid with a leader? What size braid and leader, if applicable?

i throw mine on 20lb sufix 832 and it works pretty well direct tied. They make bigger jackall risers that really work better in my opinion. the smaller ones dont seem to have as much action but they get alot more strikes

I use mine with braid to leader.

I love the action but haven't got anything on it this year :crying:

I've thrown mine on Copolymer and swapped the hooks out for Decoy Singles. I use a very small Decoy Snap. Burning it on small river systems for Smallies is just incredible, they flop over the top of each other to chase it down in the summer.

Not sure if I'm just unlucky but I have the bigger version and I've thrown that on spinning and baitcaster gear. That thing just comes in like a stick whether I burn it back or slowly reel it. If I twitch it back it kinda has that action like i saw in the videos but barely. How are you guys working it?

With the 007 and 004 I have, it’s really about getting both speed and tip angle just right. It’s neither burning nor slow rolling - but rather on the slow end. And the line I try to keep above the surface.

Maybe this spring I'll play with it more. I guess it is just about having that angle and speed. Not sure if throwing on it on braid matters either but maybe I'll try mono as that should help it float.

Its more about getting the speed right. Once you get it fast enough it rises up to the surface the action starts. I usually stop my cast right as the bait hits the water and start winding.
