BaitFuel - a Warning
BaitFuel - a Warning
I figured I'd post a quick warning to anybody who is considering trying out BaitFuel - a new attractant that I've seen hawked on various YouTube channels. To be fair, I have no idea yet if this stuff works. I just know that marinating my Roboworm Hologram Shad worms in it (they explicitly recommend marinating) screwed up the worms very badly. The translucent, glittery part of the worm turned a dull, milky white, making it rather useless in my mind.
Maybe there's no reaction with opaque baits. Maybe it actually triggers more/longer bites. Just be careful what you use it on, and maybe run a test first.

Re: BaitFuel - a Warning
Well I need to go check my bag of roboworms now. I put some bait fuel in a bag of morning Dawn roboworms a few days back and haven’t looked at them yet. I’ll post some pictures of what they look like.
How long did it take for them to get like this?

Re: BaitFuel - a Warning
A lot of people rough their baits up a bit before using them. Nothing wrong with that, especially if the special juice sauce actually works. I'd still throw those and see what happens.
Re: BaitFuel - a Warning
Not sure how long it takes, I did the same as you and let it sit for a couple days. It seems to be specific to the translucent colors, I can see it affecting semi-translucent ones like Morning Dawn. Interested to see pictures.
Re: BaitFuel - a Warning
I forgot about this until I seen your post. Well I went and checked right now and it definitely did make my roboworms a little milky and took away their translucency. I don’t know if it will affect my catch rates but it’s not going to stop me from throwing them. However, I won’t be adding any more to any of my bags until I get through this bag and see if it does affect anything. I posted a couple pictures of the baits, the one on the bottom is without bait fuel and the one on the top was marinated in it for a few days. I’m wondering if the color will change even more the longer I leave them in, but I will have to check next week and see.

Definitely a small sample size, but I caught about two smallmouth for every one my friend caught this past weekend. Using the same Roboworm size and color drop shotting.Walleyehawger wrote: ↑Sun May 29, 2022 4:56 pmAny updates on the effectiveness of the Baitfuel?

Has anyone else noticed that the Roboworms seems to be a little stiffer with Baitfuel? I squirted some in the bag about a month before actually using it.
