How often does your local club have Tourneys ?

I have been thinking of joining the local bass club for a couple of years as a co-angler for the competition but they only have like 5 "points" tournaments a season. That just doesnt seem like enough to me. For example there schedule this year is 1 tourney in June, 1 in July, 1 in August, 2 the first 2 weeks of September, and then the championship 1st week of October. I would think that being as though your in a bass club you actually LIKE to fish so why not have more tournaments? I am crazy or stupid ? I realize we have a way shorter season up here but how many tourneys do you guys have in your clubs per season ?

We have one every Wednesday night, starting about April until middle of September.

We only have 2 on the weekends the first one and the last one. We have a few unofficial ones on Saturday throughout the summer.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I just thought the guys up here in upstate NY just werent as "hardcore" as other parts of the country. I also figured seeing as though we dont have the luxury of fishing year round that they would try to get as many in as they could. There are lakes with ice on them in April around here and your done by November

We have 9 from June through the first week of October all on Lake Champlain. We also host 3 opens and a Club vs. Club tournament as well.

All on Champlain huh ? You must be pretty close to me then cause I only live about 20 minutes away from Champlain. Is your club in VT ?

Yep we are in Vermont (Chittenden County Bassmasters). There are some 2 other local clubs around here, one has a few New Yorkers in it as well. I can dig that up for you if you are interested.

We have one per month, with the classic being the tournament for December.
We usually have a couple of opens each year as well.

Even if they only have a handful, that's more than you are doing now, so might as well give it a shot. Who knows, you could end up being influential in adding more tournaments to the schedule.

We have 8 tourny's a year in our club and everyone seems to like it.

Once it gets it hot, we'll have tournaments every friday night until fall.
