I was reading bassfan today and it appears that KVD will not be in the classic for 15, cutting his run at 24.

Clunn isn't in it either to the best of my knowledge, which makes it 30 some odd years the last time that Clunn/KVD were not in the Classic.
One hell of a streak =D>

Kevin is probably relieved. He has absolutely nothing to prove and has made his money. He has been tournament fishing for a long time. He is probably looking forward to the break. However, even though he is financially set, I believe that he is addicted to chasing green fish like the rest of us. I don't think he is done yet. He still has money to win and records to break.

I believe it was the year I was born (1973), that one or the other wasn't in...

The classics is a lot of work & money.. I don't think he is happy about it but who knows. I think its weird for him to not be in the classic but he did have a crappy season..

He had an interview with Zona and he was very upset. He stated that this year wasn't a good year for power fishing styles and guy who could finesse fish were successful. Guess its time to practice that drop shot!

There is no way KVD is relieve he didn't make it. You don't get to the professional level if you don't have that fire and competitiveness. They are so much more driven than the rest of us.

This is one of the more crazier things I've heard... That's like sayin team X is glad they didn't make the NCAA tournament, they've done it too many times. C'mon he's very competitive as are all of these guys... If they weren't ... They wouldn't be at the top of the sport. :talk hand:

You don't think that he can get burned out? I think he would welcome not having people in his face asking all of the same repetitive questions that fans and the press ask. Kevin has been at it a long time. I am sure that he is not happy about it, but I think he might enjoy the break. He has nothing to proove to anyone. He just didn't have a successful season. He will get his head back into the game.
