Care To List Your Ultralight Arsenal??

How small is your rod and how light is your line? It's not about the size of your tackle, but how you work it. Come share your Ultralight and Bait Finesse System (BFS) fishing success here!

OK I've targeted a ceramic bearing set from Boca...where's everyone getting their carbon washers from??

Would rather go with the carbontex instead of HT-100's.

Bearings arrived...now to emplace them without wrecking everything.

Have been switching, selling, buying, horsetrading and reconfiguring my arsenal...wanted to try some items and have stumbled into some deals that couldn't be pased up...other items are pure hedonism...just nice to have....vintage stuff is for historical and comparison purposes.

Reel main line up currently:

Ultralight

Shimano Symetre 500FJ
Qkuma Alumina AL-10
Okuma Inspira IA-10
Quantum Kinetic KT05PTiB
Quantum Energy E05PTiB
Okuma V System VS-15 shallow spool
Pflueger President 6720
DAM Quick Microlite 265
Alcedo Micron

Heavy Ultralight/Light

Shimano Symetre 750FI
Shimano Saros 1000F
Pflueger Supreme 8025
Okuma V System VS-15A deep spool
DAM Quick 110

Surprises so far...the Micron and Microlite lay line fairly well...as long as the spool is properly shimmed. The DAM Microlite and 110 can use the same spools, shimming them can be accomplished by using Mitchell 300 head to housing shims which come in varying thicknesses. (Actually, the larger DAM reel pop off spools can be finely adjusted using Mitchell 300 baffle plate shims too.) The Microlite outdoes the Micron due to it's worm gear oscillation.

Well I just got into UL fishing around a year or so ago, do to this very forum I might add, so my "arsenal" is only a single setup. I fished with it a good bit right after getting it and then really forgot about it for about a year. I picked it back up today and went to a pond close to home for some fun ultra light fishing. I caught 3 or 4 nice sized Bream and 3 or 4 small bass, it was a blast and now I'm fired up about ultralight again so that's why I came here to see what the current topics were.

My setup is a TFO FWS 601-1 signature series 6' UL 2-6# line 1/32-3/8oz lures
Shimano Stradic FI 1000 spooled with 6# Sun Line fluorocarbon

Yep...like an opium den if you get in here.

Though I have a number of Ugly Stiks...but I had to be snooty... :D ... and only get the Ugly Stik Lite Pro's that Mao-Mart has a monopoly on...though what they call ultralight is probablely more of a light rod and their lights are close to medium light. But they are indestructible and you get guides with aluminum oxide inserts.

The heavier action ones match the weight of my larger vintage reels too.

one of my first rod and reel purchases was an ugly stick lite with a president 6725. reel is long gone but i still have the rod collecting dust on the wall rack, dunno why. though not an ultra light , my current setup..

fenwick river runner 6'8" light/fast
shimano saros 1000f
power pro 15/4 hi viz yellow/sufix performance braid 20/6 moss green both w/ 6# cxx leader

i absolutely love it. my first combo i grab when i go fishing. when i do bring out the medium power rods , i always think how much i should of brought that one. ive brought in plenty of largemouth , peacock bass and panfish.

that abu garcia 801c was a beast of a reel btw. kinda wish i never got rid of it. it was geary as hell but built like a tank with a solid drag.

MY arsenal right now is a 5ft st croix triumph ultralight with a shimano sedona 500 and 4lb sufix elite. My other is a 6ft st croix premier light with a td fuego 100a and 4lb sufix elite as well.

I love both of these combos but hope to upgrade both the rods at somepoint. Would like split grips and lighter.
