want UL blank for trout

Post by Orangedak » Thu Oct 28, 2021 12:06 pm

I want to wrap a baitcasting rod for UL trout fishing; want to use small (1/16 oz. or so) swimbaits and spinners for trout on 4# test. I will be primarily in a boat or on shore, not creek fishing. What recommendations would fit those parameters? Likely with use a Tatula 100 with Aliexpress spool as the reel. I would prefer a rod >6 ft.

Check out the Phenix Mirage blanks. They fish very versatile and do very well for open water. I have a 6'1" built into BFS.

Another vote for phenix mirage. Have a 7'1" built as a bfs stick and it's great!

Matagi TR78 Super Nimble Minnow seems to be one of the best out there. I'm going to let one build myself too. From reviews this blank is insanely good!
