Tenryu bluecurrent TZ/NANO 83 & Matagi TR78 Super Nimble Minnow

Post by Ferio » Thu Nov 04, 2021 1:52 am

Hi Guys,

Any of you have experience with the bluecurrent TZ/NANO 83? Little to be found about these rods in English language, but I know it's a favorite in Japan. A friend of mine reccomended this one to me, telling me it's far better than my current Croix legend xtreme MLXF2.

I'm seeking a really finesse sensitive rod with really good parabolic bent. Will be used for european Perch mostly but zander can be caught too and maybe pike sometimes.

Currently very difficult or rather not possible to buy one since the corona epidemic, so I asked around more and custom build Matagi TR78 Super Nimble Minnow might be even a better option from recommendation. Though no information to be found on this blank, other than it's japan made.

Hopefully some of you here have experiences with these rods?

Very happy with my Matagi TR78. Great for searun brown trout. So happy that I have one more coming in. Very light, truly super nimble, great action for moving baits / treble hook lures.

Thanks.
The build looks very clean and elegant.
Kinda peeked my interest

I have Yamaga Blanks Blue Current 83 TZ/ Nano Flex. I like the rod a lot for various ultralight applications. It is quite soft in the top section, but it also has a strong bat, which is quite typical for a mebaru rod. It handles fish very well.

Went with a custom matagi super nimble for the moment. Will order a bluecurrent too when it's available again for reasonable prices.
