Daiwa Coastal 80 Turn Into BFS?

Post by Ghost » Mon Jan 16, 2023 9:49 pm

I really like this Daiwa reel. I notice that it is the same frame as the Daiwa Tatula 80. AlieExpress has a DIY BFS spool for the Tatula 80. Would this DIY spool fit and work on the Coastal 80?

Newer before seen Daiwa Coastal 80, but interesting reel! I think it's not long shaft. Maybe this will fit?

Trying to research this reel for you, Daiwa's website lists the reel as having hyper double support, which normally goes with a free-floating spool. There are a few exceptions from this, I think the Tatula 300 has dual pinion support but no free-floating spool.
