I’m going to start replacing the treble hooks on my minnow baits with barbless single hooks and/or microbarb singles. For 45-50mm minnow baits I’m seeing recommendations that range from size 6 to 10. Is there a consensus on the best size for these baits?

I use Owner S-55M (mostly the barbless version, SBL-55M) and Vanfook DRS-40F in size 8 – excellent fit for those 50 mm trout minnows. I prefer the Vanfook with their soft, braided loops.

Owner C'ultiva SBL 55 barbless or Vanfook micro barb hooks. Usually size 6 or 8, depending on the type of water. I have a lot of logs and such in my waters so, smaller hooks she's snags easier for me.

Some of these higher end minnows don't come with rings, which seems a little backwards...haha Much appriciated.
