Power loss from cutting

Power loss from cutting

Post by Hogsticker2 » Thu Jul 22, 2021 1:01 pm

If you had to guess, how much do you think cutting 5 inches from the butt of the blank effects the power? I can't imagine it's a lot, but I can't afford to lose too much with lighter powered blanks. Any help would be appreciated.

Hold the blank 5" further up than you would normally hold it and see.

Would depend on total length and bend characteristic I'd figure. For instance, I'm thinking a typical length true X-Fast I'd venture 2%, where perhaps a true Moderate might be in the neighborhood of 10% or so? Roughly, hell I don't know. But I do know length and bend matter. That's what she told me.

Pretty significant impact at roughly 6 inches.
