Curious if anyone has any measured data on this blank?

Search the old threads Hogsticker. I remember the RDA on that blank being really low. Surprisingly low

I have the 715 and it is crazy powerful. It must be over 700. It is more powerful than a Loomis MBR 844. There is a much bigger gap between the 714 and 715 than other blank manufacturers would have between a MH and H. I thought it was you that had the 714?Hogsticker2 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 20, 2021 1:23 pmI've tried, can't find it. That's crazy though. I wonder how much power the heavy has.

Idk about the numbers but, the 714 feels more like a M power, fast-mod-fast action to me. I wouldn't use it for light Texas rigs and I live way up north.
I use mine for topwater, jerkbaits, Shakeyheads, light jigs...all the M powered stuff

Nope. These ratings are a bit ridiculous. 320 to still under 400, and then up to 700+. Oh well, I can find a use for the medium heavy. Thank you guys.toddmc wrote: ↑Fri Aug 20, 2021 2:01 pmI have the 715 and it is crazy powerful. It must be over 700. It is more powerful than a Loomis MBR 844. Oh yes and quess what!? 763C is 398g !Hogsticker2 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 20, 2021 11:51 amAre you sure? That's only 60-70 more grams of power than the 683ml.
Feather 71 MH is 405g. Very nice blank and MUCH cheaper than K2.

Still holding out hope someone chimes in on the 714. These blanks are strange, but they sure are nice.MardukFIN wrote: ↑Sun Aug 22, 2021 2:20 pmOh yes and quess what!? 763C is 398g !Hogsticker2 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 20, 2021 11:51 amAre you sure? That's only 60-70 more grams of power than the 683ml.

There’s an old thread here, unfortunately the images don’t work anymore: viewtopic.php?t=32600&start=75
It states that the 714 is almost identical in power to the GLX 843. RDA for that Loomis is listed as 570 here: viewtopic.php?t=60906&start=30
Dunno if that helps of confuses the issue… From personal experience (I fish the production 714 a ton) it feels a bit lighter than an 843, and I agree with @Hobie-Wan Kenobi on the techniques it’s good at (I do throw light t-rigs on it occasionally, though). It’s great for heavier tubes, as well.

Well this is certainly getting more and more confusing. I figured that it should be over 500, yet the 764 has over 200 less grams of power. Crazy. How much lighter would you say it fishes compared to the 843? More or less than a half power?Drakestar wrote: ↑Sun Aug 22, 2021 9:56 pmThere’s an old thread here, unfortunately the images don’t work anymore: viewtopic.php?t=32600&start=75

Re: RDA - Phenix K2 TX-714MH
I've called it a NRX 852.5 on a few occasions. So yeah, probably 1/2 power lighter than a GLX 843 but TBH I haven't fished the GLX a lot recently. The 714 does feels lighter than a Zbone 733 LMH (can see how that one compares to the 843 here: http://www.tackletour.com/reviewkistlerzb3lmh73pg2.html) Not a ton, but it's definitely there.Hogsticker2 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 23, 2021 3:24 pmWell this is certainly getting more and more confusing. I mean, it's an awesome blank (as you're well aware), but I don't understand why Phenix calls it a MH.

Re: RDA - Phenix K2 TX-714MH
If it truly has over 500 grams of power, I'm okay with the MH label. But the 764, if these measurements are correct, no way.Drakestar wrote: ↑Mon Aug 23, 2021 6:55 pmI've called it a NRX 852.5 on a few occasions. Rofhouse have the 764 in their database. Comparing it to other blanks I know in their comparator tool, I wouldn’t assume it’s a below 400g RDA Blank
