That is what I figured, I do too. I was having trouble getting mine to a full charge and contacted optima. They recommended a Professional Mariner charger. I switched and have not had a problem since.

Check out a Stealth 1 charging system.

Get one of these and you'll never worry about your batteries being recharged properly or being stranded on the lake due to battery discharge in strong wind conditions. This system charges your batteries while you run the big motor from spot to spot or up and down the lake.

Website is a little old fashion and simple but do your due diligence and you will see a majority of the pros use this system and it ain't because their sponsored by them. They're a small company and the personal service is incredible.

Very easy install too.

Nothing but the best baby!

I bought 2 cabelas 2-bank chargers, 1 for the front and one for the back batteries. Not very impressed with them. Sometimes it doesn't trip over to full charge even after 24hrs of it being plugged in. It was on sale, and I see why.

I have the Stealth charger too with 3 group 31 optima blue tops. Seems to work great, I've never been low on trolling battery power.

I don't own one yet but there is one called a stay-in-charge that I'm looking at. I know mark menendez runs one not that it matters. I think it's a stealth charger like mentioned earlier plus you run a wire up to your truck alternator so you can charge the batteries during the ride to and from the launch. It looks like it would work great but I haven't heard anything on here from anyone. There are a couple of videos on YouTube I think.

Check out NOCO Genius Chargers. I also run 31 blue top optimas and have the NOCO in my Bass Cat. Never had an ounce of trouble, puts a full/complete charge on the batteries very quickly, and priced very well!

I hat to say it but probably most new charges are all the same internals. I "think" Guest makes the ones that BPS sells. Have had no problems whatsoever with mine.
