Hello all,
I purchased a Fortrex oh about 9 months ago and with in about 1month I noticed cracks all around the screws of the control box (which is basically the bottom plastic piece of the head).
Anyway I called MinnKota and they sent me a new one.. I had it installed and thought I was good to go however I noticed about 3-4 weeks ago that it had cracked again pretty bad.
So I called again and they are sending me a new one.
My question is has anyone had this happen to them and if so does anyone have any tips on how to maybe prevent it?
I was thinking of using rubber o-rings with the screws ...just an idea.
Its a pretty annoying problem and after googling it I noticed this was a well known problem with the maxumm and there are a few complaints starting to pop up about the fortrex with this problem as well so I'm sure in time it will be a well known problem also.
Sucks to pay over $1000 on a t-motor with a defect like this but oh well back to MG I go.
Any tips or ideas would be appreciated since I am likely stuck with this T-motor for a while.
