Music to fish by

To set the scene: I'm wading the weedbeds out front on our 10 mile long lake. There are a few guys out fishing in boats, but no one in sight. The blackbirds are singing, ducks are everywhere (this is a federal wildlife refuge) and it is a wonderful afternoon with puffy cumulus cloudys floating in a clear blue sky. It is great to be out.

Then... boom! boom! boom! the beat and chant of rap music (?) echoes across the lake. I finally see a boat moving slowly across the lake about 2 miles away. I know sound carries well across water, but think of the volume to carry that far. It went on until the boat turned a corner and disappeared.

How many of you guys have CD or MP3 (or whatever they are) players in your boat? If you do, you might think of some of the other fishermen who are out on the lake for the peace and pleasure of a day on the water. Old geezers get grouchy.

I agree!!! If I wanted to hear that kind of music (or anyother kind) I would put it on MY radio!

Nope and never will. People have told me to put one in, but im out to be AWAY from all that junk, then when I get back into the car I can go def haha. 1500 watts of HUH what you say! My roomates Baja had a system but you couldnt hear it over the 496 mag HO running wide open.

I have radio in the boat. But the only time I run it is on the Weather channels. I dont want to hear anyones music when I am on the water or on the road.

I AGREE!! and i enjoy rap music but not when i am out on the water. the water is no place for a stereo, nature has its own music, the birds, the wind in the trees, the waves hitting the shore, fish jumping..man why am i still at work!!!!

That's not too bad. I can just picture Clint Eastwood out there trolling for walleye and cracking his spinning rod with a leach on the end of his line.

"Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon" is great for the sunrise.

My boat has Sirius, 10 disk cd changer, mp3/4 player, etc.. I play it low and it helps me to relax.

I'm an old geezer that likes his music just about as much as fishing
