Buying a New Bass Boat

Post by goldrod » Fri Aug 13, 2021 10:12 am

I’m not but if you are what are you looking to buy?
I’ve been seeing a lot of videos on this Cayman CX21
and I’m not sure whose is the builder but it looks like a nice boat.
Personally I would like to see how a falcon rides and I love the layout.
Falcon boat’s imho represent thinking outside of the box.

But all that being said
Phoenix makes a good boat from what I’m told.
Ranger has always been the benchmark of bass boats and the cost of entry has never been light. I’m not sure if they are still considered top dog by the masses. I tend to think of the boat market as I do reels and rods.
Sometimes the most popular is overhyped. But I’m interested in knowing what you guys think. With the shortage of building equipment for houses I wonder what and if the boat market is affected or how inflated the prices are.

I don’t have $100,000.00 give anyone for a bass boat, no matter who makes it.
Some of those prices are scary.

Oh no. We are good on this end as far as the rebuild
I’ve had some broken bolts but the dremel and lubricant has helped

I was just looking at some boats for ideas and also my neighbor is looking to buy

It seems like Phoenix has surpassed Ranger around here (Wisconsin) for the #1 brand and 721 seems like the preferred model. My friend picked up a Basscat Pantera Classic this spring. It's a nice, no frills 19 footer that can easily fish two off the front deck. Those are the two brands that I would look at and pick the one that had the storage layout you prefer.
