well i got to try the boat out today. And i'm pretty dang impressed, the 30lb thrust minnkota was plenty enough to tote us along. The stability was quite good once ur standin up but the only time we were worried about fallin in was when one person was standin up and when the other person in the back tried to stand up once the other was already up, then it kinda set them off balance, but overall it was quite stable. I would recommend them.

well i finally got to try out the boat today, and so far its great. I think i may need to inflate the floor a little more next time though cuz the floor boards weren't quite snug to the sides so it was a little less stable than what the review said. It handles great with the 30lb thrust minnkota but it may take some time for me to get used to fishing and handling a boat at the same time, lets just say i did more of steering the boat today than i did fishing, and when i WAS fishing i couldn't concentrate cuz i was trying to keep the dang boat where i wanted it. lol. oh well, i guess its just somethin u gotta learn when u first start usin a boat. Overall i would deffinitely reccomend the SE8, its a great boat.

Sounds like a nice portable set up. I don't have an inflatable raft,
but with float tubes and other inflatables, it's always important
to inflate it enough. Your performance will not be good if it's not
inflated right. Like if your boat sags too much, then it will create
a lot of resistance for when you're moving in the water. If you
inflated the side and the bottoms harder, maybe with the 30lb thrust
you will be going even faster. Don't be afraid to infrate it some more.
When you press on the tubes, it shouldn't go in much. But of course
don't blow it up! Most likely you will not.

atfirth,

Remember that the cold water is going to reduce the air pressure in your boat. You could take the pump with you and inflate a bit more when your under way. Be sure to reduce the pressure when you come ashore, especially on a warm day.

I did inflate it more yesterday and today and it was great. I was out there by myself today and it was really stable, i fely completely safe standing while fishing. Now i just have to save up for that 55lb trolling motor to see how fast i can REALLY get this thing going, haha, 30lb is plenty for fishing though, i just have the need for speed....

Dont forget more speed equals less run time. I like a 36 because it is in the middle and lasts a long time on 1 battery.
