Anyone have experience with the portable deeper fish finder? I fish from shore and a yak most of the time so I'm intrigued with this model.

I wondered the same thing. Deeper was generally reviewed very positively by Flukemaster and others on YouTube.

So, I asked if anyone on the Texas Fishing Forum had used it, an opinion? One fisherman responded that he had a Deeper, found it was good for accurate water temps, bottom depth readings and contour changes, a bit less so for identifying underwater structures and fish where it was not as good as more expensive models.

My take-away is that if someone like me is fishing out of a kayak/canoe/small vessel, just hanging this over the gunwale and getting depth readings makes it sound pretty good. I'd have no interest in casting the thing out on a line though that would be the only way to work with it if one is fishing from the bank.

It might be worth a try!
