Transducer placement

Post by FishEastCarolina » Mon May 04, 2020 5:17 pm

I need help with my transducer location. I am losing signal at speed but also I think it is coming out of the water if I am in the front of the boat while solo fishing.
It’s a 14 foot alumacraft. The transducer is the totalscan lowrance. In the photos I have marked the 12 inch from the motor mark in black pen. Just left of the bunk. There is also a rib near the transducer, am inch or two towards the center of the boat in its current location. I also am unsure of the depth I have it mounted, I do feel it could be lower but I am scared of knocking it off while running
Any help is appreciated, I am getting decent readings but it’s not all the time.

It does need to be lower.

The trade off is transducer safety, not sure of your speed but its pretty normal to lose bottom contact while
at top end speed.

I uninstalled and plugged the old holes with rivets. I ended up going with a removable arm from cabelas.

needs to be lower and angled down more. when set up correctly they will read at speed.
