Fireworks!

Post by BB144 » Mon Jul 04, 2011 5:17 am

First off, don't mind the watermark, it's my username on Flickr and some photography forums.

This was my second 4th of July (I guess I should say 3rd of July) with my camera and I think my over the last couple days of shooting fireworks, my photos have really improved from last years. I had more shots I was really happy with this year. These are a combination of Sylvania Ohio's (suburb of Toledo) firework display at Centennial Terrace in Sylvania, OH and a couple of my neighbor's at their parties to watch the fireworks (we can see them from our houses).

whats your shutter speed on the 6th photo down? i figured most of these are slightly long exposures but in that photo you got pins of light frozen.

Sorry I didn't answer sooner, I don't check this section often. lol. My exposure for that picture was 8 seconds. I believe those "pins of light" were actually the "popcorn" or crackle type fireworks. They sort of strobe as they move out from the center, so it looks as though there's the little dots.
