1 more Tatula spool question

Post by JWR075 » Sat Feb 01, 2014 2:05 pm

Seems my other thread veered from the original topic.

Do you know why the JDM Tatula spool will not fit the USDM version. I looked at both (via the internet) and both use the same diameter spool unlike the TD-Zs where there were 2 different diameter spools (103 at 34mm vs. 100 at 36mm).

One more question, I was wondering if you found out if the Aird spool would fit the Lexa casting reel.

Thank you for being on here and answering our questions.

HI,

The spools off of the JDM Tatulas will fit the US Tatulas. The only difference I foud out is line capacity. The JDM spools are shallower. I know this is a little off topic but the JDM Tatulas have a smaller handle as well. They have a 80mm handel instead of hte 90mm handle that is on the US models.
The Aird Spools will fit the Lexa reels. I tried it myself and it worker perfectly.

The part number for the Aird spool is 700-9480 and the price is $24.85. You can contact customer service toll free at 800-736-4653 to order this spool.

To Daiwa

Have couple questions about Tatula.

1. Why do you have Tatula with gear ration 5.4:1 only as right handed version?
Where is a lefthanded model? Everything else comes in both, doesn't understand that logic...?

2. Can I swap 5.4:1gears to 6.3:1 lefty Tatula in order to make 5.4:1 lefty Tatula?

Does the shallower JDM Tatula spool have the same weight as the Tatula R spool?

The JDM spool is made from the same aluminum as the Type R spool. I don't have that information on the weight of the spool.

Been wondering the same thing. LH cranking reels are a dying breed these days it would appear. Probably why you can't find the Sols. Hopefully Daiwa releases the tatula in a LH 5.4. =D>

Quite the opposite actually... Low speed gears aren't big sellers nowadays so most manufacturers don't see a market for them so they don't make them in lefties... It's all about higher speed gearing...
