line capacity
line capacity
how does daiwa determine line capacity. does the company use a specific line brand/model? a stock zillion spool is said to hold 100 yards of 16 lb test. what diameter is this 16lb line?

Re: line capacity
I have always wondered this too. Of what diameter line does X spool hold 100 yds? Some 16 lb lines are as thick as other 12 lb line so it is confusing.vncnt wrote:how does daiwa determine line capacity. does the company use a specific line brand/model? a stock zillion spool is said to hold 100 yards of 16 lb test. what diameter is this 16lb line?
Re: line capacity
i once asked bantam what his company does. he said they use ande tournament iirc, so i was able to cross reference and get good estimations of how much of a certain lb test is going on. wish i had a zillion box on hand...
Re: line capacity
RCS1016 Spool capacities, I am assuming all Daiwa's use the same specs:
12lb = .32mm
14lb = .35mm
16lb = .37mm
As a point of reference, here's a couple line diameters:
Super Natural
14lb = .31mm
16lb = .33mm
20lb = .37mm
Tatsu
12lb = .285mm
15lb = .33mm
20lb = .37mm
Trilene XL
12lb = .33mm
14lb = .36mm
17lb = .38mm
12lb = .32mm
14lb = .35mm
16lb = .37mm
