Different frame colour, extra frame cut in steez ex, brass gears in 7.1:1, stronger drag, longer 100mm handle, and 100 spool.

Thanks... does this imply the 6.3:1 does not employ brass gears?

I don't think the right hand 7.1:1 has brass gears, can some one confirm?

The LEFT hand has brass gears, but the RIGHT hand does not ??? If true, that makes no sense to me.

Why is Daiwa not responding to this thread :?:

After speaking with Daiwa, I was told the 7.9 Steez EX is the ONLY model to have a brass drive gear & pinion gear... while both the 6.3 and 7.1 EX models have aluminum drive gears & brass pinion gears.

I’m now more confused than ever because at least one member has confirmed the [left-hand] 7.1 EX has all brass gears. More importantly, the specified weight for both the 7.9 and 7.1 is 5.8 ounces. How is this possible if one has a brass drive gear while the other has an aluminum drive gear?

Has anyone else found out if the EX100HSL comes with brass gears? I've read conflicting reports...

Confirmed lefty 7.1 is 100% brass. I've also added those gears to a few other reels.
