confusion about 2500-size spinning reels
in the past, 2500- and 3000-size spinning reels had the same body size, only the depth of the spool was different. in the product description of the ballistic EX, it says that the 3000H has a "New Larger Body Design"...does that mean that 1) the daiwa 2500 and 3000s are two different body sizes now and 2) the 3000 has grown or is that the 2500 has shrunk? from what i can tell, the procyon 2500EX has actually gotten smaller bodywise...but, i don't think that's the case with the ballistic EX from the pictures i've seen. can you confirm?
Re: confusion about 2500-size spinning reels
Hi,
This is true not only in the Ballistic and Procyon models but also in the Lexa, Exceler and Legalis spinning reels. The 3000 has been redesigned with a larger body.
The body size for the 2500 hasn't changed that much. It might be a tad smaller in the Procyon to keep weight down but checking the weight of the older model it is only a tenth of an ounce heavier. The body size on the Ballistic 2500 seems to be the same on last years model and the new EX.
