We might get down your way in October. I'll let you know in advance this time!
Well, doesn’t look like that’s gonna happen now :( We took a pretty good hit on this one. Luckily it was no Ivan (Sally made landfall on the same exact date, in the same exact location at almost the exact time Ivan made landfall in 2004), but the damage is still pretty severe. Orange Beach is looking rough.
I know, and I'm praying that its just property loss, not lives. Mobile Bay and Dauphin Island got slammed pretty hard, too, judging from the pics a buddy sent me.
Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.

Things are getting back to normal quickly, and I’ve been able to get back painting some baits. Finally got around to doing a new pattern that I’ve been thinking about for a while. Everyone knows big Speckled Trout love some Croakers, so here’s my first try at doing a Croaker. Stripes/spots need to be cleaner so I will be making a stencil next time, but overall I think it’ll get bit.

Been trying to get my creativity flowing, and bream patterns are a great way to do that. Trying to match our tannic water bluegill around here which are very bright fish. Lot of fun trying to come up with something randomly, and think they turned out looking pretty nice. Ready to take them down to Seminole very soon, have a feeling that little flat side will work great.

Scratching the baits while trying to apply stencils has been driving me crazy though. These didn’t scratch up much if at all though, and not sure why. Any advice to keep scratches to a minimum?

No way man, definitely open to any comments, good or bad! Just trying to have some fun playing around with this stuff. Have you still been messing around with the airbrush?

Thanks Tim! Trying to break out of my saltwater shell and make some freshwater patterns has been fun

Yeah, but I've slowed way down. The water is high 40's, and most of the local launch ramps are closed because of Covid, so that's kind of taken the wind out of my sails.

Unfortunately, I haven't in a while. I have my setup at work and have been severely restricted since this Covid stuff. I do have a J-Dream frame I painted at the beginning of the year. Just waiting on a few more parts to finish it up!

Sorry to hear that, hope things change soon! I’ll be on the lookout though, always like seeing those painted reels.

That definitely makes it tough. Can’t believe they close the launches down. We’ve been lucky to stay open during this craziness. Come on down to FL anytime Mark!
