New lures in your box 2021

Post by Dalleinf » Sun Feb 07, 2021 3:36 am

Interested in knowing what people look forward to throw in 2021 - any new lures that have caught your fancy?

I have high hopes for two new sinking minnows from Rapala that I will use for trout:
Rapala Shadow Rap Solid Shad (5 cm and 5.5 gram)
Rapala Countdown Elite 55 (5.5 cm and 7 gram)

I like the countdown elite 75, which was released last year, and hope the new smaller version will be great.

I, too, am looking forward to some new trout lures.

Duo Spearhead Ryuki 70S - Violet Yaname YB
Duo Spearhead Ryuki 60S - Ayu OB
Daiwa Dr Minnow 70F - Bubblegum
Megabass Great Hunting 55 - LZ Lime Back

Several colors of Dynamic Lures HD Trout

Of course some new Rapalas, but most curious to try the X-Rap 06 in different colors. I have had great success with several of the other Countdown and Balsa versions of their offerings so I’m excited to try the X-Rap.

Lastly, I have some new colors (for me) of YoZuri Pins Minnows. I’m using for the first time this season the Blue/Silver OB 2 3/4 inch version. It’s supposed to be very effective. I’m hoping it is.

Thanks for the info. Should have known what this would lead to - just ordered 3 Duo Ryuki 60S  ;)
I note the size of your lures and will highly recommend that you try out the Tiemco Laks 60S.

I got a bunch of the Megabass Uoze Swimmer Jigs that I'm excited to try out when my lakes gain sufficient grass again. I throw both underspins and swimjigs in those fisheries, this looks like a good crossover. (Just a bit worried about the durability of the attached blade, reportedly it bends and breaks after a few fish).

man that those rapala shadow rap solid shad would probably be awesome for some early spring walleye fishing, use a lot of #5 shallow shad raps and they catch fish but always looking for something a little different, might have to find some to buy! might try to countdown elite too.

Creature baits galore. Megabass Rock Hog has a nice size for EU Perch.

Oh man, I’ve been slaying Spotted Seatrout on those dudes for a couple of years now. Similar to a Borboleta LeLe but way better paint schemes. I’ve been a huge fan of their baits for a long time.

It was reported that there was an issue with the initial batch that was subsequently fixed. If you do encounter any problems Megabass has excellent customer support.

Awesome. These kinds of lures really appeal to me. That's why I really like the Rapala Subwalk, Storm Flutterstick, Yo-Zuri Edge Trembler lures. There's something about working these kinds of lures with so little resistance and Bam! Fish on! I'm definitely putting this one on my high priority to fish with when the ice melts off this spring.

Duo Realis and Jackall spybaits. I've never used a spybait but they seem like they would work so I'm going to try them this season. 110+1 Jr's have already been ordered. I have no doubt these will work well. I'm also going to try Decoy Shot Rig Worm 10 hooks for drop shots to see if my landing percentage improves.

Just a note on the Deps Spiny Craw at the nose of the lure there is a pocket to put a rattle in.
I put the DSC on a dirty jigs LC finesse jig and cast after cast I could not get the rattle to fall out.
In fact I was obliged at fishing with a catch and even after catching fish the rattle remains in place..
