Chronarch 100D7 Left Side Plate

Post by TexAg2018 » Thu May 06, 2021 10:14 am

The rod attached to the left side plate (bnt4022) on my Chronarch 100D7 snapped. Any info on replacing bar or left side plate as a whole would be greatly appreciated.

Mine corroded badly and went through a process of looking everywhere for a replacement... Non left that I could find?

So went through a long winded all by hand whittling metal adventure by turning a bolt onto the replacement part made of 316 stainless steel... Works really well.

But if you can find a replacement - do that... Or get a mini lathe to save heas of time.

How did you remove the piece from the frame?

0.7mm Allen key - same as the spool support on shimano spin reels.

Unfortunately we no longer have side plates in stock and that part is not available as a replacement.

I like the self turned replacement! =D>

I'm pretty sure that this part is the same as on the Chronarch E.

That stainless steel shaft is moulded into the plastic side plate. Not a removable item and totally different closing concept.

Gotcha, I was thinking it was removable. I replaced a sideplate for a friend last year and was thinking it wasn't attached integrally.

The shaft in question on the D has a grub screw - Allen key 0.7mm and the shaft had that pin through it in which a cam lock mechanism forcefully pulls the side plate closed / a spring exists on the shafts end on the inside of the gearbox plate which pops it out when unlocked - quiet a bit different to the E series.
