Those knobs look familiar, glad they’re put to good use!

Re: Lets see all them Daiwa's
I just scored 2 Daiwa 203A Millionaire (Japan Made) for $50.00 each. I plan on cleaning and lubing them, and strapping them on a rod to go fishing with them. Just curious if I made a good deal. TIA, Stu

Re: Lets see all them Daiwa's
Thanks! I showed them to my wife on Asian Portal when I was ordering the reel and, amazingly, she agreed that I should get them. That was a shocker!toddmc wrote: ↑Tue Jun 22, 2021 10:23 pmNice knobs!hoohoorjoo wrote: ↑Sat Jun 12, 2021 2:19 pmHeres my new Alphas SV TW 800XH on my custom Lamiglas Infinity 862.
Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.
Re: Lets see all them Daiwa's
To everyone that upgrades to the older knob style, what do you do with all the new "I" shape style knobs? That Alphas SV TW looks good with the silver knobs but I just like the feel of the new ones better. Would love to find a stockpile of the newer style knobs...

Re: Lets see all them Daiwa's
I have a few pair, but I keep them in case I sell a reel, so I can hold on to my preferred knobs. I do like the slightly larger version of those knobs, the ones that come on the Tatula TTU 100 models.DirtyD64 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 23, 2021 12:38 pmTo everyone that upgrades to the older knob style, what do you do with all the new "I" shape style knobs? Now I am 100% all-Daiwa. Really wanting to replace the OG Tatula 100 with another new Zillion, but I've also been getting the 'my first Steez' itch and that will have to happen this year at some point.
But the next thing to do is get parts ordered from Tackle Trap and do some upgrades and part swaps to the SS SV's and 'Alphas' SV 105's.

The Zaion stars are nice for those two reels if you can find them. Think they fit with nothing extra, there might be a washer or collar needed first. Sometimes I wish my SS/SV had the 8 ratio gears and a better drag. I rotate a Steez A and Zillion SVTW spool in and out of mine, sold the stock spool on here...JCBHatesFishing wrote: ↑Tue Jun 29, 2021 4:42 pm

Re: Lets see all them Daiwa's
Yeah, I am wanting to do the Carbontex drag upgrade to both, and I want to grab one of the G1 Zillion spools to see how I like it side by side. I completely understand the whole 'the spool chokes itself', especially in comparison to every other SV I own and use. I am carefully trying to not fall down the Hedgehog parts rabbit hole and stick to the things I do care about (like knobs, I really like those two styles of knobs).DirtyD64 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 30, 2021 1:49 pmThe Zaion stars are nice for those two reels if you can find them. Re: Lets see all them Daiwa's
I had been looking for a long rod to bomb cast carolina rigs as far as I can from the shore and here she is. So far pleased with it, does what it's intended for pretty well. Still need more time with it to get used to the length and so.

Re: Lets see all them Daiwa's
It has a supple tip, with a plenty of backbone and power for hooksets and drag em out of weeds with all of the lines out after a ultra long cast lol

That's a sexy looking combo. Curious of your thoughts on solid tip of new hermit. I have the 21 black jack that i still need to put more time in with.
