Tackle Haven shipping increase?!

Post by KP Duty » Wed Jan 11, 2023 9:03 am

I've ordered numerous rods from this place since 2019. Shipping was $60-$65 depending on the exchange rate...more than other sites, but you'd pay a little more because they had the best in-stock selection. I decided to order a Glorious spinning rod on Friday, but was thwarted when shipping was $104  . Went over to JLS to see what they had, and saw a p5 Kasumi in stock, so went with that. Shipping was $21. Anyone ordered a rod from Haven lately? What did shipping run you?

Yes, it's been discussed here: http://www.tackletour.net/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=88937

I'm stuck with the price increase since I primarily use their SNIPE Service Request to acquire JDM casting rods via Yahoo.jp. auctions and from Japanese tackle shops that don't ship to the US. In my experience, despite the shipping cost increase, it's still better than dealing with some 3rd party proxy services who have a habit of adding "incremental" costs to my order after I win the auction such as extra storage fees, and costs to clear Japanese customs, etc.

Please have a great day!

Fishingkiwi tried to charge me over $80 for about 3lbs worth of stuff that would have needed a 12x12x12 box if that big. Luckily they provide you a quote with the option to cancel.
